Background

Based on my background in sociology and criminology (MA, PhD), my research is guided by a basic interest in human attitudes and values, their causes and effects. Perceptions of what kind of behaviour and which individuals are deviant or vulnerable affect not only trust and interactions between individuals, but also between individuals and institutions such as the police.

I have worked at several universities in Switzerland, such as the Universities of Fribourg, Bern, St. Gallen and Zurich, as well as at ETH Zurich (Center for Security Studies).
